NEWBURGH, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn women's basketball team fell to Mount Saint Mary College, 42-93, on Tuesday evening from the Kaplan Center.

How it Happened

The Bears kept pace with the Knights, trailing 16-10 at the end of the first quarter behind triples from Grace Kennedy (Maspeth, N.Y.) and Kristen Donovan (Maspeth, N.Y.). However, MSMC posted a 22-9 second quarter, holding a 40-19 lead at the half.

The hosts outscored St. Joseph's 52-23 in the second half, putting the contest out of reach en route to a 93-42 result.

Rookie Jasmine Chan-Clayton (Melbourne, Australia) led the team with nine points followed by Kennedy and Gabriella Cinque (Staten Island, N.Y.) with six points each. Kennedy led the Bears with six rebounds while Mercedes Perez (San Antonio, Texas) dished out four assists.
