KINGS POINT, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's basketball team concluded the 2023-24 season with a 70-53 defeat to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Tracy's (Glendale, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) hitting a triple from the wing. The hosts scored the next 10 unanswered but
Alex Macheras (Sandy Spring, Md./Sherwood) hit a pair of free throws to see the Bears trail 33-25 at the half.
The Bears further closed the gap to six thanks to
Evan Sirakis' (Hollis Hills, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) three pointer, 39-33. It would be the closest they'd get to the hosts as USMMA restored their double-figure lead two minutes later, holding on for the 70-53 triumph. Sirakis and
Nick Shlimov (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) combined for 15 points in the second half.
For the Bears
- Sirakis totaled 13 points collected four rebounds, and forced a pair of steals.
- Tracy drained nine points and hauled five boards.
- Shlimov finished with seven points.
