MAHWAH, N.J. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's volleyball team fell to Ramapo College, 0-3 (14-25, 12-25, 14-25)
How it Happened
The Roadrunners opened the contest on a 9-0 run. The Bears closed the gap to 9-4 behind kills from Frank Rivera (Astoria, N.Y./Gramercy Arts) and Lasha Kemashvili (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) but the host's early spark was enough for a 25-12 set win.
The second set started with a back-and-forth exchange of kills and errors. As the set progressed, Ramapo capitalizing on SJBK opponent's errors while hitting at a .545 clip and serving four aces to claim the set, 25-12.
St. Joseph's struggled to find their rhythm in the third despite equalizing early on three occasions. While there were few moments of resistance, Ramapo's consistent attacks overwhelmed St. Joseph's, leading to a straight-set victory.
