BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn men's volleyball team saw its win streak snapped with a 0-3 (13-25, 10-25, 00-25) loss to Ramapo College on Monday night at The Hill Center.
How it Happened
The Roadrunners opened the match with a 6-1 lead before it increased to its largest at 22-9. Jeremias Martinez (Elmhurst, N.Y.) provided an attacking presence in the frame but it wasn't enough as the visitors won the set 25-13. Ramapo again held a sizable lead in the second set, 13-4. It later expanded to 21-8 as before they took the stanza 25-10.
The Bears led for much of the third set as Martinez and Richard Ortega (Roselle, N.J.) chipped into the SJBK attack and Gianfranco Guarraci (Elizabeth, N.J.) provided an ace. However, at 19-16, the Roadrunners closed the frame, and the match, on a 9-2 run to come out on top 25-21.
