PATCHOGUE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) baseball team was on the losing end of 2-7 and 2-13 results on Sunday afternoon against St. Joseph's (Long Island).
How it Happened (Game 1)
The Golden Eagles plated three runs in the bottom of the third to open the scoring. Back-to-back bases-loaded walks to Matthew Quinones (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) and Joe Provvisiero (Ozone Park, N.Y.) reduced the SJBK deficit to 3-2 in the fourth. However, SJLI responded with two runs of their own in their half of the stanza, tacking runs in the fifth and sixth innings to see out a 7-2 result.
How it Happened (Game 2)
The Bears held the hosts to one run through the first three innings. However, the Golden Eagles pulled away with 12 runs in the fourth. Andrew Ardito (Brooklyn, N.Y.) belted a two-run homer to right, putting the Bears on the board; ultimately confirming SJLI's 13-2 triumph in seven innings.

Joe Meglio (Howard Beach, N.Y.) recorded the lone hit for the Bears in the second inning. He and Chris Perez (Bronx, N.Y.) scored the team's runs.

The Bears' meeting with SUNY Old Westbury, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 12, will be played on Tuesday, April 15 at 3 pm. Due to the rescheduling, the Bears' doubleheader against Eastern University has been postponed.
