NEW YORK — Justin Munson (Middle Village, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) of the St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) men's basketball team was named both Skyline Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.
The first-year guard shot 24-for-30 from the field in two games last week, averaging 31.5 points as the Bears went 1–1 and earned their first conference win of the season. On Tuesday against Sarah Lawrence, Munson scored a career-high 36 points on 13-of-17 shooting, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. He added five assists and a season-best four steals in the loss to the Gryphons.
Munson followed with a 27-point performance at Mount Saint Vincent, shooting 11-of-13 from the floor. He recorded nine assists, six rebounds, and three steals as the Bears earned a 99–75 win over the Dolphins.
For the season, Munson ranks 13th in the Skyline Conference in scoring at 13.9 points per game. He also ranks inside the top 20 in rebounds per game and 10th in assists per game.
Munson is the program's second Rookie of the Week recipient this season and the first Player of the Week selection since Jonathan Reno during the 2023–24 season.
The Bears return to The Hill Center on Wednesday, January 28, hosting Purchase College at 6 p.m.
