FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) softball team had its 10-game winning streak snapped Saturday afternoon, falling to Farmingdale State College 1-2 and 3-4 to end the 2026 regular season.
Game 1
Both teams were held to just two baserunners each through three scoreless innings. Payton Walker (Eastvale, Calif.) opened the fourth with a double and later scored on an Audrey Scott (Rocklin, Calif.) single down the left-field line. The Rams tied the game in the fifth and secured the 2-1 victory with an RBI triple in the sixth.
Nicole Shultz (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) paced the SJBK offense with two hits. Vivian Garcia (Eastvale, Calif.) added a double to account for the remainder of the Bears' five hits. Leila Heller (Belle Chasse, La.) took the loss, striking out two over six innings of work.
Game 2
Shulrz reached on an error to start the second game and eventually scored to give the Bears an early lead. After Farmingdale State pulled ahead in the second inning, Makena Lopez (Eastvale, Calif.) tied the game at 2-2 with a sacrifice fly.
Lopez struck again in the sixth, hitting an RBI double to drive in Garcia and reclaim the lead. However, the Rams evened the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the inning and secured the 4-3 walk-off win in the seventh following a St. Joseph's error.
Shultz, Lopez, Garcia, and Walker registered hits in the game with Lopez and Garcia combining for three RBI. Makena Burr (Foster City, Calif.) dropped to 11-5 in the circle, tossing 6.2 innings with one strikeout and a pair of earned runs.

The Bears return to Farmingdale on Tuesday, May 5, to open the Skyline Conference Tournament. Entering as the No. 4 seed, St. Joseph's will host No. 5 SUNY Old Westbury at 7 p.m.
