Patrick Horne joined the women’s soccer coaching staff before the 2023 season and was promoted to head coach for the 2024 campaign following the departure of Natalie Turner-Wyatt.

Previously, Horne was the head coach at South Carolina State University, where he managed a 13-player team through a 16-match season in 2021. He also established the women’s soccer program at Brooklyn College, winning back-to-back CUNY Athletic Conference titles and earning Coach of the Year honors in 2013. Horne also produced the CUNYAC and ECAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2015.

Horne’s coaching experience includes roles at Concordia College, Molloy College, and various men’s teams. He also worked with youth teams, including LIJSL Boys Select and Baldwin Eagles Girls, and coached in the New York Red Bulls’ Grassroots Program.

A former professional player with minutes in the North American Soccer League and American Soccer League, Horne authored "Black Pioneers of the North American Soccer League (1968-84)" in 2019.

Horne received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, where he was a four-year member of the men's soccer team. He helped lead the team to a runner-up finish in the 1975 NCAA Division I Tournament. The entire squad was named to the SIUE Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. 

Horne also has a Master of Science degree in Education from Alfred University and is a New York State certified English teacher. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) B License.
