PURCHASE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn women's soccer team and Manhattanville University kicked off their Skyline Conference match on September 21; but the contest was suspended after 35 minutes. The two sides picked up where they left off on Tuesday afternoon with the Bears ultimately falling 0-7.
Prior to play being halted, the Valiants jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Lindsay Dominguez (Bellerose, N.Y./LaGuardia) made seven saves before the stoppage. When action resumed, the Bears held on to the margin through the rest of the first half.
Three minutes past the hour mark, the hosts benefited from a penalty; taking a 3-0 lead. Within eight minutes, from 71' to 79', Manhattanville scored thrice more, increasing their advantage to 6-0. The Valiants confirmed their 7-0 result with a goal five minutes from full-time.
Dominguez finished the match with 14 saves, stopping seven shots upon the match's resumption.
The Bears briefly step out of Skyline play on Thursday, October 3 when they face John Jay College from the campus of Purchase College. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:45 pm.
