Men’s Basketball Unable to Find Rhythm Against Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn men's basketball team endured a 60-81 defeat to Lehman College on Tuesday evening.

How it Happened

Despite being placed in an early 10-point hole, the Bears managed to hold a one-point edge on a Chris Williams (Trenton, N.J.) three-pointer midway through the first half, 18-17. A 13-1 run paced the Lightning to a 31-19 lead. St. Joseph's came within two possessions shortly thereafter but were unable to keep pace with Lehman as the hosts led 42-28 at the half.

Lehman continued to limit the Bears' scoring opportunities in the second half. SJBK saw contributions from Colin Mills (White Plains, N.Y.) and Jonathan Reno (Staten Island, N.Y.) throughout large segments of the period but Lehman came away with the 19-point victory.

For the Bears

  • Mills was the game's leading scorer with 19 points.

  • Nazareth Warren (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Timothy Richardson (Ozone Park, N.Y.) each had six points.

  • Adam Jasaraj (Staten Island, N.Y.) pulled a team-best seven rebounds and scored five points.

  • Stephan Direny (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with four boards and as many points.
