BROOKLYN, N.Y—The St. Joseph's University New York-Brooklyn men's basketball team triumphed in a 66-62 road victory over the Medgar Evers Cougars on Tuesday night at the Cougar Cave to improve to 2-4 on the young season.
How It Happened
The Bears jumped out to an early 11-point lead with 14:25 remaining in the first half behind a quick 13 points from Chris Williams (Trenton, NJ). The Cougars would answer with a 7-0 run to cut the Bears' lead to four halfway through the period. St. Joseph's would then get their lead back up to ten with just under five minutes to go but Medgar Evers would go on a 9-0 spurt to end the half down one by a score of 34-33.
The Cougars started the second half strong, taking a 39-34 lead with 17:08 left in the second. It would then be back and forth for the rest of the game that would see five ties and seven lead changes over the last 16:35 of the game. Three clutch free throws down the stretch by Williams would seal the deal on the Bears' second win of the season by a final score of 66-62.

- Williams added 16 points and four rebounds.
- Adam Jasaraj (Staten Island, N.Y) had six points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
