BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Highlighted by the trio of Destiny Hurt (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka), Mercedes Perez (San Antonio, Texas/William Howard Taft), and Kristen Donovan (Maspeth, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) scoring north of 20 points, the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) women's basketball team scored 90 points for the second time in as many days in their 91-35 victory over Yeshiva University on Sunday.
How it Happened
A Yuval Nitzan three pointer saw the visiting Maccabees lead 5-4. However, the Bears scored the next 18 unanswered, shooting 6-of-13 in the span, to hold a 22-5 advantage. They ended the quarter with a 24-9 lead.
The first-half grew to 32, 45-13 at the 3:19 point of the second quarter. Shai Rahamim's 11 points in the period, including a seven-point stretch to close the half, reduced Yeshiva's deficit to 47-20 at the intermission. Rahamim finished with 15 points on the afternoon.
The Bears limited the Maccabees to 15 second-half points, while the aforementioned trio of Hurt, Donovan, and Perez combined for 38 points as the Bears cruised to a 91-35 triumph, going 2-0 in their back-to-back Skyline slate.

Hurt, less than 24 hours after her Senior Day, finished with a game-best 27 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals.

Shanna Bliss (Astoria, N.Y./Bryant) and Grace Kennedy (Maspeth, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) each had game-highs of 10 rebounds. The latter also forced three steals.

The Bears scored 90-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time since November 2018; scoring 98 against the Maccabees before netting 93 on Mount Saint Vincent two days later.
