How it Happened (Game 1)

Payton Walker's (Eastvale, Calif./Eleanor Roosevelt) two-run home run headlined a three-run first inning for the navy and gray. Vivian Garcia (Eastvale, Calif./Eleanor Roosevelt) also went yard, belting a three-run shot to left.

The Bears reached their 14-0 result in the fifth courtesy of a pair of runs in the frame.

10 of the Bears' 19 hits were for extra bases with Walker, Garcia, and Van Der Kamp combining for seven of the 10. Sofia Logreco (San Diego, Calif./Mission Hills) and Leila Heller (Belle Chasse, La./Belle Chasse) produced the remaining three, all doubles.

Makena Burr (Foster City, Calif./San Mateo) struck out seven Gryphons in the circle while conceding just one hit and a walk to earn the win.
