NEWARK, N.J. — Senior forward Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) made St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn men's soccer history, setting the program's all-time scoring record on Wednesday evening. However, the Bears fell 1-2 to New York University from Mal Simon Stadium on the campus of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
How it Happened
Nine minutes into the match, Naci scored his second goal of the season, marking his place in the SJBK record book. The navy and gray defense effectively curtailed the Violets' scoring chances, with Christian Chimborazo (Elmhurst, N.Y./Queens Technical) saving their only shot of the first half.
In the second half, NYU took the lead as they struck twice within the first 10 minutes. Despite Chimborazo's efforts to prevent any further goals and the Bears' attempts to level the score, the Violets managed to secure the 2-1 win, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season.
