BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) men's soccer team and SUNY Maritime College played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday night from Aviator Field.
13 minutes into the match, a Bear was fouled inside the 18-yard box with
Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) slotting home the ensuing penalty. Ten minutes later, Naci found the back of the net again as
Diego Volpe (Long Branch, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) slotted a ground pass to the Frenchman. The Bears held on to the 2-0 lead entering the half.
The Privateers slipped past the Bears' defense within the first five minutes of the second half; scoring to cut their deficit to 2-1. St. Joseph's held on to the one-goal advantage before Maritime scored again at 78'. Neither side was able to break the deadlock in the final 12 minutes, resulting in a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes.

- Naci registered seven of the team's 13 shots, five of which were on target.
- Volpe provided his first assist of the season.
- Alex Castro (Miami, Fla./Christopher Columbus) had a total of six saves.
