BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn men's basketball team suffered a 60-68 defeat at the hands of SUNY Maritime College on Saturday afternoon at The Hill Center.
How it Happened
The Bears held the lead for all but 49 seconds in the first half. Colin Mills (White Plains, N.Y.) and Joshua Gordon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led the team in scoring, combining for 19 points. With a 29-20 advantage and just over four minutes left in the half, the Privateers responded with a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 29-26, as the Bears maintained a 30-26 edge at halftime.
St. Joseph's pushed the lead to 35-30 with 17:57 remaining in the second half. However, Maritime seized momentum with an 11-0 run, eventually building a 12-point lead with 5:29 to go. The Bears fought back, and thanks to a Justin Nazon (Staten Island, N.Y.) three-pointer with 25 seconds left, trimmed the deficit to 66-60. In the end, the Privateers secured an 8-point victory, extending their unbeaten Skyline streak to four games.

Mills had a joint-game-high of 24 points and collected five rebounds.

Shooting 6-of-9 from the floor and flirting with a double-double, Gordon finished with 13 points and eight rebounds. He also had three blocks.

Nazon had near-triple-double, totaling 10 points, six rebounds, and as many assists. He also had three steals.
