BROOKLYN N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. — Brooklyn men's basketball team dropped its Wednesday night to the University of Mount Saint Vincent, 61-78, at The Hill Center.
How it Happened
Two early three-pointers from Collin Mills (White Plains, N.Y.) gave the Bears an early 6-4 lead with 17:23 remaining in the first half. The Dolphins would answer with a 7-0 run but a three and a steal from Adam Jasaraj (Staten Island, N.Y.) followed by a Justin Nazon (Staten Island, N.Y.) and-one layup tied the game at 11 with 14:21 left in the half. Nazon would make the ensuing free-throw but the Dolphins would regain the lead on the next possession and hold onto it for the rest of the game. The Dolphins held a 42-26 lead going into the half.
Mount Saint Vincent would stretch their lead to 20 points with 12:58 left in the game but the Bears would slowly cut the UMSV lead to 62-52 with 6:39 remaining after a Jasaraj three pointer. That would be the closest the Bears would get as the Dolphins would win 78-61.
