BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn men's basketball team returned to The Hill Center on Wednesday night, falling to SUNY Old Westbury 57-72. The deficit drops the Bears to 1-2 in Skyline Conference play and 4-8 overall.
How it Happened
Following a pair of Panther free throws, the Bears scored the next 12 points unanswered behind three-pointers from Colin Mills (White Plains, N.Y.) and Adam Jasaraj (Staten Island, N.Y.). The SJBK lead grew to its largest of the night at 11 with 9:45 in the opening half, 24-13. Leading 34-27 in the final 2:30 before halftime, the visitors used a 7-0 run to trim the Bears' lead to two by the break.
The Panthers' scoring run extended to 19-0 after they scored the first 12 points of the second half, taking a 44-34 lead. A basket by Noah Gray (Panama City, Fla.) following Old Westbury's run brought the Bears within eight, but it would be the closest they got to regaining the lead as they ultimately lost 72-57.
