Saint Elizabeth Soars Past Men's Basketball in Non-Conference Finale

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — The St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) men's basketball team was defeated 64-97 by Saint Elizabeth University on Tuesday night to conclude their non-conference slate.

The Eagles scored on five of their first six possessions, while Colin Mills (White Plains, N.Y.) and Jacob Idowu (Wiesbaden, Germany) accounted for nine of the Bears' first 15 points. Saint Elizabeth extended the margin through the middle portion of the half with repeated fast-break finishes, while St. Joseph's remained within reach behind three-pointers from Justin Munson (Middle Village, N.Y.) and Adam Jasaraj (Staten Island, N.Y.). The hosts continued to build separation en route to a 53–31 advantage into halftime.

Saint Elizabeth continued to control the tempo in the second half, opening the period with a 15–5 run to push the margin beyond 20. St. Joseph's received perimeter scoring from Mills and Jasaraj, along with interior finishes from Nazareth Warren (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Idowu, but the Eagles maintained the advantage with consistent scoring in the paint and at the free-throw line; holdimng on to win 97-64.

Munson led St. Joseph's with 14 points and five rebounds. Mills added 13 points, while Jasaraj finished with 11 points and four rebounds. Idowu recorded eight points and three rebounds, and Warren contributed six points, three rebounds, and four assists. Justin Nazon (Staten Island, N.Y.) added three rebounds and two assists.

St. Joseph's continues its road stretch on Saturday, December 13 at 1 pm, with their Skyline Conference opener at SUNY Maritime College before a three-week hiatus for the holidays.
