The split saw the Bears improve to 7-3 overall.

How it Happened (Game 1)

Each team saw hits through one and a half innings of play but the hosts opened the scoring in the second inning thanks to a pair of singles, 2-0. How it Happened (Game 2)

The Bears earned their first run of the game in the top of the first when Valarie Scott (Tucson, Ariz.) hit a double to bring Payton Walker (Eastvale, Calif.) home. They added four more runs in the second, capitalizing on a mix of Violet errors and an RBI single by Walker, making it 5-0. NYU responded with two runs in their half of the second, but Lauren Van Der Kamp (Sacramento, Calif.) brought in SJBK's sixth run, increasing the lead to 6-2.

In the top of the sixth, an attempted double steal allowed Vivian Garcia (Eastvale, Calif.) to swipe home plate. The Violets managed to score two more runs in each of the final two innings, but the Bears held on to complete the series split with a 7-4 victory.
