The Golden Eagles struck twice in quick succession less than four minutes after kickoff and added a third goal before the 10th minute. The Bears settled in defensively for much of the half, holding off the visitors until the 36th minute despite facing 42 first-half shots
After the break, SJLI resumed its scoring in the 65th minute and tallied four more times in a 10-minute span before closing the match with a ninth goal in the 87th minute
Goalkeeper Lindsay Dominguez (Bellerose, N.Y.) turned in a remarkable performance in net, finishing with 37 saves—26 of them in the opening half—as the Bears absorbed 64 shots overall
