BROOKLYN, N.Y. — For the second consecutive season, Rachel Meltsin (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) represents the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn women's volleyball team on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team. The announcement was made by CSC on Tuesday.

The All-District® teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50, which is not rounded up, to qualify for the team.

Meltsin ranks fourth in the Skyline Conference with 559 assists and 7.26 assists per set. She distributed 46 assists against Pratt in September, a season-best. She also brought up 10 digs against the Cannoneers; the first of her five double-doubles this season. Meltsin's 37 assists against Farmingdale State saw her eclipse 1,000 career assists; becoming the third Bear in program history to reach the accomplishment. She currently has 1,061 assists.

Meltsin also served up 39 aces, good for fourth on the squad; contributing to the program's NCAA Division III-leading 3.66 aces per set.

Last season, Meltsin, alongside Rachel Guerra '24 and Jillian McGinty, became one of the first Bears in program history to receive CSC honors. The junior political science major maintains a 3.79 GPA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early January.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
