BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn women's soccer team dropped a narrow 0-3 result to sibling school St. Joseph's (Long Island) on Saturday evening from a damp Aviator Field.
The Bears held the Golden Eagles scoreless through much of the opening half. 20 minutes in, Lindsay Dominguez (Bellerose, N.Y./LaGuardia) stopped an SJLI penalty before weather forced a temporary stoppage midway through the period. On the other side of the delay, the visitors converted from the spot, ending the half with a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Eagles added a second goal three minutes into the second half, adding a third with 12 minutes remaining in the contest.
Dominguez finished the match with 15 saves.
The Bears will resume their match with Manhattanville University on Tuesday, October 1 at 4:30 pm.
