OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. — The St Joseph's University, N.Y (Brooklyn) women's soccer team fell by a score of 0-2 at SUNY Old Westbury on Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers struck first in the 16th minute thanks to a goal from Milagros Guevara Mendez . Superb defending and goaltending from Lindsay Dominguez (Bellerose, N.Y.), who made 12 saves in the first half, kept the game at 1-0 heading to the half.Â
Old Westbury would get their second goal in the 59th minute. The Bears had opportunities to cut into the lead but shots from Casey Hobbs (Suprise, Ariz.) and Katherine Barrios (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) were saved by Panthers' keeper. Dominguez made another 13 saves in the second half but when the final whistle blew, the Panthers emerged victorious, 2-0. Â
