BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Taylor Knight (San Ramon, Calif./Dougherty Valley), Mariana Medrano (El Paso, Texas/Loretto Academy), and Rachel Meltsin (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team on Tuesday afternoon.
Knight, a senior psychology major, finished the campaign second on the team with 2.36 kills per set, totaling six double-doubles. The senior outside hitter was also second with 3.09 digs per set. Knight posted a season-best 20 kills and 24 digs in Skyline Conference matches against SUNY Maritime and Farmingdale State, respectively.
Medrano led the team and placed third in the Skyline with 4.66 digs per set. The libero posted 20-plus kill matches in six matches, including a career-best 34 at Rutgers-Camden and 29 against Brooklyn College; a program-best in four-setters. The sophomore business administration and accounting double major, who earns a place on the All-District Team in her first season of eligibility, boasts a team-best 3.97 grade-point average.
Meltsin will graduate as the program's first—and only—three-time CSC Academic All-District selection. The senior setter led the Bears with 263 assists while averaging 3.65 assists per set. She recorded a season-high 23 assists in a five-set match over FDU–Florham and added 11 assists against Brooklyn College as part of the first senior class to defeat the Bulldogs since 2016. Meltsin also posted double-doubles against Manhattanville (18 assists, 10 digs) and Sarah Lawrence (21 assists, 11 digs).
The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
