PURCHASE, N.Y. — On the heels of his second Skyline Offensive Player of the Week nod, Victor Naci (Bordeaux, France/Bernard Palissy) bagged a brace as the St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) men's soccer team defeated Purchase College, 3-2, on Wednesday night. Francisco Garcia (Brooklyn, N.Y./Park Slope Collegiate) also found the back of the net.

The triumph extends the Bears' (6-5-3, 4-3-2) win streak to four matches, the longest in program history and the longest since a three-match run in September 2014.

How it Happened

Following an early corner kick in the 5', Garcia headed home the opening goal. They added to their advantage in the 23' when Naci beat a Panther (7-8, 3-6) defender 1v1. Purchase restored their one-goal deficit four minutes later, thanks to Marlon Matute, as the Bears took the 2-1 lead into the break.

18 minutes into the second stanza, Matute found the equalizer on a Nick Prata throughball. Naci responded at 72' on a shot from outside the box to give the navy and gray their fourth-straight triumph.

For the Bears

• Naci scored his fifth game-winning goal. With 21 goals to his name, Naci scored multiple goals in a match four the fourth time in a row and sixth time this season.

• Garcia scored his second goal of the campaign.

• Diego Volpe (Long Branch, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) and Pablo Mejia (Elmhurst, N.Y./Academy of Finance and Enterprise) each had assists.

• Leonel Bravo (Astoria, N.Y./Queens Vocational & Technical) totaled six saves.
