BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A combined five student-athletes representing the St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) women's and men's soccer programs were named to their respective College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Casey Hobbs (Surprise, Ariz./Valley Vista), Ashley Pintado (Jackson Heights, N.Y./Christ the King), and Nikki Grech (Northville, Mich./Northville) were named to the women's soccer Academic All-District team. Hobbs and Pintado, who conclude their collegiate careers with the program record in matches played, are both three-time All-District honorees and were part of the inaugural group to receive the distinction after the 2023 season. Grech, a sophomore, earns the honor in her first season of eligibility.
Joaquin Franco (Brooklyn, N.Y./Williamsburg Prep) and Bryan Garcia (Flushing, N.Y./Thomas Edison CTE) represent men's soccer on the Academic All-District team. Franco earns a place on the team for the second season in a row. Garcia, like Grech, was named to the team in his first season of eligibility.
Hobbs and Pintado are set to graduate in May with degrees in child study and nursing, respectively. Grech is majoring in psychology, while Franco is pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, and Garcia is studying biology.
