PURCHASE, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) cross country teams wrapped up their 2025 season on Sunday at the Skyline Conference Championships, hosted by Purchase College.
On the women's side, Jennifer Sarji (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Casey Hobbs (Surprise, Ariz.) paced the Bears, both finishing the 6k course in under 30 minutes to place 27th and 31st, respectively. Sarji led the way in 29:36.3, while Hobbs followed close behind with a personal-best 29:54.6. Jizelle Velazquez (New York, N.Y.) crossed the line in 30:01.7 for 34th place, while Kristen Donovan (Maspeth, N.Y.) clocked 31:37.5 and Vivian Garcia (Eastvale, Calif.) recorded 32:46.1—all setting personal records and finishing inside the top 60. The Skyline finale marked a strong close to the campaign, as the Bears secured a ninth-place overall finish at the championship meet.
The men's team showed notable improvement from last year's championship, capturing seventh place as the top five Bears all registered personal records. Guillermo Victorio (Corona, N.Y.) led the Bears with a time of 31:07.3, good for 38th overall, with Ganilo Quintos (Boston, Mass.) following just eight seconds behind. Gabriel Lopez (Forest Hills, N.Y.) finished 61st in 34:54.8, edging out competitors from Sarah Lawrence and Yeshiva. Guillermo Noriega (Glendale, N.Y.) clocked 35:20.1 for 64th, and Jaden Bernard-Taylor (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring five at 36:05.2. Joshua Gordon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Lucky Ahmed (New York, N.Y.) completed the men's lineup.
