Baseball Places Five on CSC Academic All-District Team®

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A record five members of the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. – Brooklyn baseball team earned a place on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team®. Vincent Camerada (Staten Island, N.Y./New Dorp) and Michael Gardener (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) become the program's first repeat honorees while Doug Paider (Glendale, N.Y./Monsignor McClancy), Christopher Stegmuller (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin), and Kris Vinski (Bridgehampton, N.Y./Bridgehampton) all earned their first selections.

Camerada batted .368 with a .495 on-base percentage, the latter being good for fifth in a single season in program history. The outfielder logged eight multi-hit games, posting three hits in five games. In two seasons, the therapeutic recreation major currently posts a career .309 batting average and .428 slugging percentage.

Gardener is one of two seniors selected for the All-District Team®. The middle infielder, who started in more than 91% of his 127 career games, wraps up his four-year collegiate run with 119 hits—including his 100th career hit recorded in March—148 total bases, and a .370 on-base percentage.

Paider returned to the team for his senior season in 2025, leading the roster with 29 hits. Among qualified batters, he ranked second with a .326 batting average and third with a .450 on-base percentage. The infielder had a pair of three-hit games this season and belted his first career home run in the Bears' April meeting with Lehman College.

Prior to graduating in May, Gardener and Paider – majoring in accounting and biology, respectively – were among the first 10 student-athletes to be inducted into the inaugural class of the Beta Delta chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.

Sophomores Stegmuller and Vinski round out the program-record five selections to All-District Team®. Stegmuller registered team-leading numbers in at-bats (96), RBI (22), and total bases (40) while placing second in hits (22); all of which were improvements from his rookie campaign. A business administration major, Stegmuller logged three-hit outings in Skyline meetings against Manhattanville and Old Westbury and hit his first collegiate homer at Baruch.

Vinski concluded the season as the Bears' representative on the Skyline All-Sportsmanship Team. Appearing in 14 games and posting 17 strikeouts, the lefty opened the campaign with 6.1 innings of scoreless relief in the Bears' season-opening win over Lehman, the first of his collegiate career. In the latter meeting against the Lightning, Vinski earned his first save. The sophomore majors in journalism and new media studies.

The All-District® teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50, which is not rounded up, to qualify for the team.
