BRONX, N.Y. — St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) women's soccer team dropped their conference opener 9-1 against SUNY Maritime College at Reinhart Field on Saturday.

SUNY Maritime opened the scoring in the 11th minute and added two more goals before halftime to build a 3-0 lead. The Privateers extended their advantage to 7-0 with two quick goals after the break. Junior Lindsay Dominguez (Bellerose, N.Y.) put the Bears on the board in the 78th minute after maneuvering past two defenders, before Maritime added two late goals to finalize the score. Goalkeeper Isabella Argento (Levittown, N.Y.) tallied 13 saves for St. Joseph's in the defeat.

The Bears will look to bounce back on the road against Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday, September 23, at 6:00 PM.
