MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A four-run seventh inning and Louis Lombardi's (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Edmund Prep) 10 strikeouts on the mound gave the St. Joseph's University, N.Y. (Brooklyn) baseball team a 5-4 win against Framingham State University on Monday afternoon at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.

How it Happened

Lucas Collet (Toulouse, France/Lyc'ee Bellevue) opened the scoring in the first, stealing second and third base before crossing the plate on a defensive error. A triple in the Rams' half of the second inning tied the game at one.

Lombardi saw a pair of bases-loaded jams in the fourth and fifth inning but came out of both frames unscathed. The graduate student struck out the side in the sixth en route to 10 strikeouts.

With a pair of runners on in the top of the seventh, TJ Moussette (Centereach, N.Y./Newfield) singled up the middle to give the Bears a 3-1 lead. He scored on Chris Leary's (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) second hit of the game. Justin Biordi (Howard Beach, N.Y./Scholars' Academy) also scored on a Framingham throwing error, 5-1. The Rams scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning to trim SJBK's lead to 5-3.

An RBI single in the bottom of the ninth brought the Rams to 5-4. The Bears halted their comeback bid on a lineout back at Sean Henris (Commack, N.Y./Commack) for the game's final out.

For the Bears

• Leary went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

• Moussette had a pair of RBI and scored a run.

• Five other Bears recorded base knocks.

• Lombardi's 10 strikeouts are a career-high and came a K short of matching the single-game strikeout record. He also allowed just two runs, both earned, as he earned his first win of the season.

• Henris tossed three innings of relief, picking up the save.
