BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's University, New York (Brooklyn) Department of Athletics and Recreation has unveiled its 2025-26 Bears Scholar-Athlete Team, honoring 44 student-athletes who achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
Representing 11 varsity programs, this year's roster marks the 10th selection in department history and the second since transitioning from a calendar-year to an academic-year evaluation format.
"Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate that excellence extends far beyond competition," said Jill Conroy, Interim Director of Athletics and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services. "Having 44 student-athletes earn a spot on the Bears Scholar Athlete Team is a tremendous accomplishment and highlights their dedication to academic success while balancing the demands of being a collegiate athlete. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work in the classroom."
During the Spring 2026 semester, Bears student-athletes posted a collective 3.265 GPA, with every single varsity team maintaining a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The 2025-26 Scholar-Athlete Team is further highlighted by 16 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections. Additionally, 10 student-athletes were named to the New York Beta Delta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma (ΧΑΣ), the national honor society for collegiate student-athletes, marking just the second induction class in St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) history. Three students recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs across the Fall 2025 and/or Spring 2026 semesters.
The members of the Bears Scholar-Athlete Team are listed below. The team will be recognized at halftime of a men's or women's basketball game later this fall. Additional information regarding the halftime ceremony will be provided by Conroy at a later date.
